In a world imbued with the hectic frenzy of sensational images and news, people would hardly have time to think of their soul and their life after death. They are beguiled by the vanities of this world, being all the time after the pleasures and treasures of life. Their existence has become meaningless, their values have been shaken and all their virtues and certainties broke down. Even the fundamental conviction, belief in the Day of Judgment and the Last Life, that should constitute a sound raison d’être in one’s life has been seriously undermined.
Al-Ihsan is a Canadian non-profit organization that was founded as a response to a renewed and sustained interest in Islam expressed worldwide, alongside a steady flow of new believers embracing Islam. This added to the constant stream of enquiries about the ‘‘green danger”, Islam. In this sense, Al-Ihsan aims to build a serious interfaith dialogue within the Canadian multicultural society. Our aim is thus to give all Canadians, regardless of their beliefs, cultures or origins, unfettered access to the Islamic faith – This becoming increasingly essential in understanding current world affairs.
Our ultimate aim is to please God and receive His blessings. We seek to fulfill the mission of the good servant of Him and to orient people towards the spiritual truth that gives an essence to their lives. Serving people and promoting virtues of freedom, brotherhood and justice are also essential part of our mission.
Al-Ihsan is a school for self-education, where we learn how to repent, how to return to God, Almighty, in every now and then. In this school, we learn also how to be prepared to meet God (after death) and how to perform righteous deeds to deserve the eternal felicity in the Hereafter. This is a fundamental aim for us. A life full of faith in God, full of submission to God, full of internal peace; that is the life we ourselves seek and then call upon people to do so.
In the meantime, our basic aim is to help Canadian Muslims revive their faith and become “ambassadors” to their fellow humans that are in desperate need of a compassionate hand that will rescue them from their wretchedness, loss, and spiritual depravation. We seek to repair the distorted image provided in the skimpy biased Western media coverage. We think that Canadians, like any other people in the world, have the right to authentic truth form a reliable source; hence the necessity of a Muslim partner to answer the many questions concerning Islam.
The authentic truth that people need to be reminded of – and awakened to –is that they have a Unique Creator Who commands to be worshiped Alone – Who commands equality and justice for all humans. God – Glorious is He – said: “I have forbidden injustice to Myself and made it forbidden amongst you; then do not act unjustly against each other.”
The authentic truth that human beings need to be reminded of is that God – Glorified be He – has honored them. God says: “And We have honored the children of Adam.” Then it is for them to decide whether to live according to that honor, or to lead a bestial life in a jungle where the law of the jungle reigns supreme.
The authentic truth that every individual needs to be reminded of is the fundamental right to know the purpose of their creation and what awaits them after death. No esoteric or materialistic philosophy can elucidate for Man the mysteries of life, rescue him from his world’s hectic frenzy, and nurse his wounds… O Man you are heedless! O Man you are bound to meet your Lord! O Man there exists a Prophet by the name of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets (God bless him and grant him peace), who came not to deny the earlier missions of his fellow brothers, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, Moses, and Jesus, but rather to confirm them and to complete the noble virtues that they taught.
Being an open and reliable partner to other Canadian associations and organizations acting in Canada, Al-Ihsan Association is ready to cooperate with all sincere people to serve Canadian citizens, unify them and foster their multicultural reality.
